My/Our Holiday Opinion:
Hi guys,
Just back from Fuerteventura and loved every minute of the holiday.
Brisamar is a fab place to stay being excellent value for money! The apartments were lovely, spacious and clean, staff couldn't be friendlier and helpful. The pool is very nice and I must say looks much nicer than in the photos.
The best thing about this place is the location! It's situated right in the main street close to all the bars and the beach. However, it is still a quiet place if you like peace and quiet. You will not need a taxi at all unless you choose to take one to go to the dunes just outside Corrajero. There is a large supermarket, souvenir shop and 24h doctor underneath the appartments (main street side)which is very handy. We've explored the resort and realised that we were very lucky to stay in Brisamar. There are a lot of other hotels that are situated quite far away from the centre, some looked awful with very little to do around them.
The hotel bar is really cheap and pleasant to drink in. E.g. exotic coctails cost 4 euros while other bars nearby charge 6-7 euros.
The 2 of us stayed for a week half board for £277 (hotel only from LateRooms.com).
Maybe hotel could improve on their food though. Continental breakfast was great with a good variety. However, dinner could do with more choice. The food was good but we recommend to go and eat at 6pm sharp because later the food gets rather cold. Desserts were the same every day and rather dissapointing.
Overall it was a fab holiday and we recommend the hotel for all the ages and kinds of people. If we go back to Fuerteventura, we would only stay in Brisamar!
Hope you have as great time as we did!
Regards, Ruta and Andi Stephen

The Brisamar apartments were very clean and tidy with an excellent maid service.
There is everything there that you would need including a Doctors and Dentists, supermarket and a really nice salt water swimming pool. It has an very good location just off the main street so everything is within walking distance.
Corralejo itself could do with a bit of cleaning up as we thought it was a little grubby, but the magnificent beaches just outside the town more than made up for that. The beaches can be reached either by bus, taxi, or you can hire a car at reasonable cost.
There are some good restaurants in Corralejo that are worth a mention, Pancho Villas serves excellent mexican food, The Plaza Steak House serves the biggest pork fillets I have ever seen !
and the De Napoli Pizzeria serves great Italian food.
If you do hire a car there are plenty of places to visit, but we would not recomend going to see the wreck of the SS America Star as there is not much left and the beach is a bit of a mess.
We had a fantastic holiday and would recommend The Brisamar.

we visited these apartments in june 2006. on arrival we had problems with the shower but staff were really friendly and sorted the problem straight away. we found the accomodation to be clean, with good maid service. Although the kitchen lacked equipment such as a decent kettle and a toaster!! we found that security could be improved as the windows didnt shut properly so we would advised requesting a upper floor room! whilst there we visited the water park which is great for all ages and the oaisis park which involved a camel ride and a buffet style lunch (highly recommended) another place to visit is ALPHA 2 ron and yvonne very friendly great place for an evening drink! some great restaurants such as la terrena steak house- great value for money!
holiday was really good overall and we will definatly be visiting this year!!!

Apart from very hard beds, we loved it !
Yes, there was building work going on next to us, but we were barely aware of it, apart from a few cockraoches which wouldn't have been there if there wasn't a 40ft hole in the ground !well they've got to go somewhere !
Our rep Tom was great always willing to say hello and how are you, really nice guy ! Being a former rep I know many who wouldn't pass the time of day, but Tom was a star.
Brisamar is the perfect location in the resort, you are close to everything but it's not noisy, I had expected it to be, but wasn't.
The apartments were clean and well equipped, you can hire kettles, but the cooker was good enough for me with a pot on it.
Pool & pool area, excellent big pool lots of loungers & spotless, well maintained.
Favourite bar was the Rock Cafe, 2mins walk, great steaks, great food generally, live music which was very good, staff tremendous !!!
What to avoid, the steakhouse in the plaza, food average, overpriced, and no toilet ???
China town great food, all you can eat buffet for 7.80E, great service, & a free shot of rice wine complete with lizard.
Shop around for you take home bevvy, price differences can be as much as 5E on a bottle.
Enjoy Brisamar it was spot on !!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
We booked this accomodation as it had been recommended by a friend and at first everything seemed fine. It was in an excellent location and corralejo has loads of bars and restaurants and there is something for everyone. We particularly liked The Venue Bar with JC the singing dog (situated lower floor of the atlantic centre) and The Golden Days bar with Big Al.
On arrival at the Brisamar we were allocated room 403. This was a room on two floors with a mid floor balcony which looked out onto the road at the rear of the property. There was some heavy duty digging going on in the area behind the apartments. We had been informed of this by Thomas Cook but they did say all their guests would be housed well away from the work. However there we were. But we decided we would just get on with it as we did not plan to spend a lot of time in the apartments. We were having a great time up to the Sunday night of our stay. Had a brilliant day on the beach and a few drinks in the beach bar. (Happy hours 3.30 - 5.30., lovely baguettes E1.85)!!!
Good night out. Returned to the apartment to find we had been burgled. They had just pushed open the door on the mid floor balcony which was fitted with tiny bolt. Very lucky they did not get our money etc as we had safe and had kept key on us. Guest staying next door not so lucky. they had money etc stolen. A distressing experience which you go on holiday to get away from!!!
We were moved to room 118. Best room on the complex in our opinion which was completely better standard than 403.
We decided to just go for it and try to enjoy rest of our hols!! Met some great people and had lovely meals particularly in the restaurants around the harbour area.
Took The Fred Olsen boat to Lanzarote which was 18 minutes each way and a great day out.
All in all enjoyed Corralejo and would go again but would think twice about Brisamar unless we could be guaranteed room 118!!!

We found the brisamar to be an excellent base for a holiday in Corralejo- within easy walking distance of the main resort centre.
It has a lovely large pool with plenty of sunloungers and was a clean and quite spacious apartment for the two of us
There are enough restaurants and bars to cater for most tastes in the resort and the dunes are well worth a visit (although it is a long walk so would probably recommend the bus)
Overall if its a relaxing, chilled out holiday that you are after then this could be the place for you!

We have just returned from staying at the Brisamar apartments in Corralejo in Fuerteventura and would recommend both the resort and apartments.
The room was cleaned daily and towels and linen changed regularly throughout our weeks stay. The pool was lovely and clean and no problems getting a sunlounger. Situated in the resort centre but no problems with noise. Everything was close by and the resort has someting to offer everyone. The sand dunes were almost certainly worth the 5 mins bus journey. They were lovely! Some building work going on around the resort but nothing that ruined our holiday where we were staying.
Overall an excellent holiday and would love to visit again and without a doubt would stay at the Brisamar....

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
We flew from Manchester with Thomas Cook, the flight was excellent and we booked a hire car for the week to be collected from the airport.
We found the apartments very easily (just behind the Brisamar Clinic) and parking was very easy too.
The apartments were very clean and modern. They were well equipped and nicely furnished. We had a ground floor apartment with a terrace facing onto the gardens. The gardens are very pretty and because of the trees and shrubs it feels very private. The pool area and gardens are kept immaculately. The only negative thing I can think of is that there is a noisy childrens playground with very irritating music next door, but this only bothered us in the early evening before we went out.
Correlejo itself is a busy town with lots of bars and restaurants. There is an astonishing number of chinese restaurants! If you like steak / meat Poco Loco is particularly good and there are some excellent fish restaurants around the town beach. The Waikiki Beach Bar is good for a drink in the evening, they had a live band on one of the nights when we went.
Probably the best thing about Feurteventura is the sand dunes, they are stunning.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
I have visited Corralejo 4 times before - so knew what to expect, although had never stayed in Brisamar Appts. I chose the appts mainly because of the location within the resort as two females (mother and daughter) we wanted to be central, also the price through Holiday Hotels was very good and they also looked well maintained from the photgraphs on the website. We certainly weren't disappointed and could not fault the cleanliness, service from the staff and the general maintenance of the complex. The appartment itself overlooked the pool and had all the amenities you would need, towels were changed every second day and linen twice in the week.
The resort itself is ideal for a weeks winter break, we were extremely lucky with the weather and did not see a cloud all week. Corralejo has got just enough going on without being too wild - we would recommend Poco Loco to eat although we did not have a bad meal all week - try the local fish and seafood and canarian potatoes with mojo sauces. For entertainment - Rock Bar is good with live music every night - great musicians!
Market is worth a visit on Tuesday and Fridays - lots of the usual stuff but also some different local crafts - jewellry is worth a look at. Found the resort to be generally very reasonable and actually came back with some euros - most unusual! Looking forward to booking again for November.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
Booked this holiday as a last minute deal at 4 days notice to give us a week in the sun before winter set in. Not our usual sort of holiday, but we were pleasantly surprised at the speedy check-in at the airport, in-flight choice of films, and efficient organisation of coach transfer once in Fuerteventura.
However, on arrival we weren't expected by Reception staff and were given an appt overlooking the pool bar which was clearly undergoing renovation work. The appt itself, although spacious and spread over 2 floors, was a strange mixture of brand new and "had seen better days". Curtains, bedcovers and lounge/dining furniture were lovely and the hairdryer in the bathroom was obviously brand new, but the fridge and the bath were rusty, kitchen drawer and door fronts were loose, sockets were hanging out the wall, a bedside light was missing and one of the 2 terraces we had was really dirty. (Luckily this one overlooked the road so we were never going to use it.)We knew from the brochure that the standard of accomodation was described as "basic", so we asked the staff to sort out the few things which they could do quickly and just accepted the rest as part of a last minute deal.
The work on the pool bar initially gave us cause for concern especially as the Rep tried to fob us off with the excuse that it had only started the previous week and there wasn't time to inform anyone. So how come its mentioned in another review from people staying here in September?? Anyway, although it must have been Hell when all the slabbing and demolition was going on, when we were there it was mostly painting and some minor building work which only entailed noisy tools for a few minutes at a time. However, it did mean no long-lies as the workmen arrived just after 8am each day and we could hear their radio and general chat from our room.
The pool area was lovely with bright yellow sunloungers (very comfy for snoozing on to make up for the lack of long lie) and plenty parasols and no one had to resort to putting out towels early to reserve one - there were always free loungers even later in the day. The large pool was cold(freezing!),but reading other reviews, this appears to be the norm across the board.
The appts are situated in a really good spot - just on a side road off the main street of Corralejo which meant that we were close to everything, but quiet at night. Some of the other drop-offs we saw from the coach were quite a distance out the town.
I would agree wiith other reviewers over the maid service - it was a bit hit and miss. A VERY quick mop of the tiled floors, a quick squirt of a cleaner round the loo (no cleaning of bath or basin)and towels changed every couple of days, but not always for ones which looked any cleaner or of the right number. There were a few ants, but that's only to be expected and we were careful not to leave crumbs lying on the floor.
Lots of shops, supermarkets and places to eat out - 87 we were told. Apart from breakfast, when we bought crusty rolls and the most delicious German butter from the supermarket more or less under the complex, we ate out. That had always been the plan, but as the kitchen only had 2 elctric rings - no oven, microwave, kettle or grill - self-catering might have been a problem anyway. I would recommend La Tasca just a couple of minutes walk down the street for tasty food of all kinds and Slow Boat 2 in a small shooping arcade for Chinese food. We weren't bothered with timeshare touts, but the restaurants hustle a bit for business, but a simple "maybe tomorrow night" or "we've already eaten" seemed to go down okay. Slightly more aggresive approach taken by the restaurants down near the harbour which was a pity as it put us off going back again and it had looked as if there were some interesting shops in that area.
Our only trip was in a glass bottomed boat which took us to the nearby island of Los Lobos and then over to anchor just off Lanzarote where we had lunch on board and you could snorkel, jet-ski or go on a banana boat ride. (Sea not any warmer than the pool!) No sign of any dolphins or whales though which was how the trip had been promoted, but it was a change from lying by the pool.
Fuerteventura itself is not a pretty island - volcanic "quarry" with not a tree, shrub or blade of grass outwith the cultivated complexes or house gardens. The coach trip from the airport to Corralejo was actually quite depressing; not helped by the inane commentary from the tour Rep. I'm sure he could have found more interesting things to tell us, or even just have stayed quiet. There is LOTS of building work around Corralejo with much more planned by the look of things. I think you should question your Travel Agent VERY carefully about where your accomdation is otherwise you could be in for a very dusty, noisy holiday.
All in all, we had the kind of holiday we paid for - cheap and cheerful, a few niggly problems, great weather and, the best bit for me - no cooking!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
I thought they were great apart from the rock-hard beds and having to hire items which should automatically be in a kitchen. The pool bar/restaurant WAS closed, though, and some drilling was heard but only for a short time. The pool area was lovely as it's recently been renovated and has a vigourating jacussi! I loved the central but quiet position. Maybe we were luckier than Sarah which room we had. I found the staff lovely. They were very friendly and there was a security man on site who patrolled the grounds.
Didn't think much of the food in the restaurant but there are plenty more to choose from, especially aound the harbour. I don't go to eat MacDonald's. I found the bars great with lots of live music being played. The Rock Bar is the nearest but another I loved was the Rock Island bar - great music and fun guys. I didn't venture into Corralejo's answer to the Veronica Centre as it was tacky and full of English karaoke bars. Not for me!
Mossies were a problem and will stand up to Avon's Skin So Soft so take the right repellent. We had a lot of ants, when we let crumbs fall so buy a spray right away or be careful when you're drunk!! The apartments are right next to the market which is on twice a week and not bad and also across from the waterpark - when it is finished. Flag beach was lovely and only a short taxi ride away but nothing much there. I'm hooked on Corralejo and have been going abroad since 1966 so have lots to compare it to.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
Me and my boyfriend have just returned from the Brisamar and to be honest we wouldn't stay there again.
We booked only 4 days before departure and was not informed of the building works completely surrounding the resort or onsite at the apartments. The restaurant and pool bar are not open and they are nowhere near finished. We only heard drilling on 2 days but as far as I'm concerned 2 days too many. There is also a villa being constructed behind the apartments and some of the apartments are effected by the noise the digger makes. We were moved from this apartment for other reasons below.
On arrival to the apartments we were allocated a room which had a few ants. We were not too bothered at the time. Later, when we came back after dinner at just after 11pm, there were ants everywhere, including on the beds. We went to reception to be asked to move but the reception is shut from 11pm - 8am! (No security on site during the closing hours). We went back to the apartment and I decided to poor hot water on the ants but I found that we did not have any hot water! Each apartment is fitted with a small electrial boiler and ours didn't work. You have to hire kettles so I couldn't even boil any water to pour on them.
The next day we spoke to our rep in the morning and by 6pm we had been moved to another apartment. This one flooded when next door had a shower! Not to worry though as the water in the boiler only lasts about 8 mins when showering and takes 55 mins to heat up again. I found it best if you run the bath and while in the bath the water heats up enough to rinse off in the shower afterwards.
The cleaning of the apartments isn't great. Our towels were only changed once not twice like they should've been and the beds weren't changed at all. All the maids did if they came were mop the floor, and sometimes made the beds as we were in twice when she came and it took only 5 mins.
The reception staff are pretty much useless, couldn't speak much English as most of guests are Spanish. They gave us the wrong safety deposit box key 3 times!
The apartments only have 2 electric rings and a fridge. Everything else has to be hired. There is a TV but is only has CNN and Eurosport (not British Eurosport so sometimes the programmes are in German).
The complex does have a really nice pool and plenty of sunloungers and parasols which aren't very old. The pool area is kept clean. This is about the only positive thing I can say!
There is a cafeteria at the front of the complex which is cheap and food is ok. I've never seen so many Chinese restaurants in one place though, the resort is packed full of them! A good few pizza places and a few stakes houses too. The best place we went to is called the Waterfront. This is the only place we felt valued as customers as it is owned by a Scottish guy (I had the best meal during our stay there too). Nearly all the other places we went to the staff were rude which I have never known before from the Spanish.
The medical centre is situated underneath the complex and occassionally you can hear ambulances but the complex is situated on the high street so other apartments are effected by road noise as well as the noisey dog opposite!
The walls aren't too thick in the apartments, one night we were woken at 4.15 am as next door had requested a wake up call but they wasn't in! It kept ringing for an hour before it shut up!! We could go to reception and complain as it wasn't open!!!!
There is a supermarket underneath the apartments too, overpriced as usual.
The beach is tiny as alot of the coast is rocky. There's only a small promonade for those of you who like to walk along one unless you fancy walking out of the town (it's not even in the direction of the sand dunes). For the best beaches you need to get a taxi or bus or walk about 2 miles to the sand dunes. They looked nice as the transfer from the airport drives through them. We didn't bother going as I get bored of the beach and things to walk around and there's nothing once you're there.
Go to the Teguisol, Costa Teguise in Lanzarote, it's so much nicer!!

Good location - all amenities nearby. Sea within short walking distance as are restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Good sized apartment with space for fold up 4th bed to be left up all the time. Hire service available for fans etc. Cleaning service was a bit hit and miss. Cooking facilities limited as were utensils some of which need replacing. Clean, very attractive pool area with sunbeds freely available throughout day and plenty of sunshades. Clientele mainly Spanish families and atmosphere very relaxed. We loved the resort and so did our children - there are trampolines, mini golf, bungees, arcades but they are not in your face.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
I can only comment on the villa I stayed in as you could end up staying in any number of properties in the Brisas Del Mar development, depending on who you book with. I stayed in the one next to the tennis court.
For those who might be interested, we had a great time. There was only the two of us staying there and I would describe the villa as fairly large so plenty of space for us. And also if you fill all the rooms it will still feel roomy. The rooms are pleasantly decorated and furnished although the settee is looking a little grubby.
Kitchen is well equipped and it all seems to work.
Villa layout is a little odd in that the bedrooms, bathrooms and living kitchen area are in effect in two separate buildings joined together by the covered terrace. This means that in order to keep everything secure you have to lock up to three doors depending on how you access. In a way though, it's kind of quirky. The layout also means that you can open all the doors and open out the entire thing to the pool side which makes it feel even bigger. Another point to make is privacy, the neighbouring villa's have windows that look out directly into your pool area, and given the odd layout of the pool you have to make sure your modesty in covered before making the emergency dash to the kitchen for a drink out of the fridge. Not a problem when we were there though as the property next door was empty.
It's really close to the water park for the kids or big kids. It took us on average 35 mins to walk at a relaxed pace to the old part of town.
Now the down side.
I can't fault the standard of cleanliness of the villa as when we arrived and a week later when it was cleaned again all was spotless. But the problem lies in the choice of vanity units in the bathrooms. Although they look pretty good and provide lots of storage I don't see how you can clean under them and looking under it appears that they attract a fair accumulation of dirt and that means they are a favourite hang out of the cockroach. Yes I know they are to be expected but not with the regularity that we saw them and always in the bathrooms.
Although the villa estate its self is clean and tidy the same cannot be said for the surrounding streets. The pavements are full of holes and litter and there is a construction site just over the road from the villa its self. I use the word construction lightly though as not much construction was actually going on. It takes about five minutes or less to walk out of the not so nice streets and on to the airy avenues of Corralejo and it can be a little dodgy when the street lamps fail as you can't see the holes in the pavement but you can always carry a torch.

We arrived having booked a 2 bed apartment, and were given the choice of either the 2 bed or, 2 one bed, which we took , they were next to each other, it gave us so much more space and the extra bathroom , which was a big+with having 3 females in the party ha ha.The apartments were very clean, in fact the whole complex was spotless, the only drawback was the poolside bar, we went one day for a snack at lunch time and waited an hour for a couple of undercooked burgers, so give it a miss.
There is a small english bar about 5 min walk from the complex which does a very good breakfast. Eating out is very good and reasonable , try Poco Loco on the main strip, it is very good and they do half portions for the kids, excellent service and very friendly staff, and don't miss Rosie o Grady's just up from the Dino supermarket, they serve evening meals from 7pm, and all excellent home cooking, so much food on our plates, we were all left stuffed after eating there, and again very good prices. The resort is very quiet and not recommended for the young party animals, a real family resort. There was still some work going on across from the apartments, but it didn't spoil our holiday.
So if you are planning on going to the Bristol Playa , you will enjoy it, we certainly did.

This is our 2nd time at the Bristol Playa and we thoroughly enjoyed it again. The Building work didnt bother us at all and we slept until after 10am most mornings ( ask for apartments facing the sea above the pool bar or on the reception side)Yes it is windy, but fuertaventura is the Windy Island. We had sunshine every day, although some days it was hazy, but still hot enough to lie in. The pool area is fairly sheltered so the breeze is pleasent when sunbathing, we had 80-90 degrees every day and came home with gr8 suntans. We like the apartments because they are quiet and off the beaten track, but are only a 5 min walk to some gr8 restauraunts or 10 min walk to the resort centre. There is a gr8 mexican behind the apartments in the old town, Pancho Villa, food is lovely, but a bit pricey, 90Euro for 4 adults and 2 children. The best food we had was from Rosie O'Gradys in the old town, really cheap and all home made. Went back 4 or 5 times.
We like Corralejo beacause it is not crowded or full of drunks and we will def be going back. The apartments were basic but clean, and the maids were gr8, worked very hard.
A very relaxing holiday.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
We are a party of two adults and four children. We booked a two bed apartment that was supposed to sleep five adults and one child's bed. However, the fourth adult bed was the cheapest, most uncomfortable sofa that we had ever seen. It was a shame, as it made a good accommodation only average. When you are sleeping for 14 days on a poor quality sofa, you are bound to be a bit jaded.
We were told about the building work that we had read about by the other reviews (thanks - they were really good). You need to realise that the building work is only thirty feet away from the complex. The noise was not too bad on some days. However, they started at 0730 in the morning, just enough banging about to wake you up. To add insult to an early morning the workmen all have a two hour breakfast from about 0900, once everyone is awake. That said, not a problem during the day. In the evening, the complex is very quiet, no noise from music cars or anthing. Good job, because we knew we would be awake early!!
Corralejo is very run down near this complex. There is a large and old hotel that is being renovated nearby. There are many empty and boarded/bricked up shops, and the footpaths are atrocious. Lots of dog mess about as well, so be careful.
This complex in the last and most northerly hotel on the island. It is permanently windy in June, not breezy as explained in the brochure. Down right windy, storm level most days. You could not sit on your balcony with food, as it literally blew off the plate. This wind does keep the heat down, so you may see this as good or bad. It explains why you do not need air con.
In late June/early July while we were there, the sun rarely came out befor midday, and sometimes not before 3pm. Again some may like this, others who love the sun may not. It is warm though. However, it cools down to about 20 degrees in the evening, you may need a light jacket or jumper. The wind makes it feel cooler. Don't worry, its still warmer than England. However, you will be cold in June if you don't pack a jacket, especially the kids.
The pool at the complex was really cold, even on the hottest of days. It was the coldest pool I have ever been in, and I am used to swimming in the sea in England. Not good.
We booked the hotel and holiday specifically for the Kids World Kids Club that Thomas Cook run. We arrived on 20th June, to find that the clubs do not run until early July. Not told about this when booked the holiday. Disappointed. If you are not with Thomas Cook, there is a young guy who allegedly runs a mini club. It isn't very good, opens late or not at all and isn't that inspiring for the children. That said the young guy - Kornel - is friendly, and I think more suited to adult entertainment. Chidren do not appear his interest or his forte.
Anyway, this is a truthful and unbiased view of the resort and complex. There were good points, and we did enjoy ourselves. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The maid service was excellent. The life guard was superb, the best we have have seen. He was so attentive with the children, and even swam with them and gave them swimming advice. He keeps himself busy doing maintenance around the pool as well when its quiet. Don't be fooled, he is still watching. A small girl fell over, and he was there straight away. He sorted out the slight injury, stayed with her, got her a drink to cheer her up, and went back and kept checking on her. As I say, excellent.
The food in Correlejo is by far the best that I have tried in all of the Spanish holiday destinations (and we have been to lots). Keep to the locally owned ones, we found them much better quality. The fish is excellent. Meals are good value, with kids meals around 4-5 Euros. Be careful, as some of the kids meals are frozen. Always ask, as most have fresh meals for kids, or do half portions.
The restaurants have front of house staff who accost you in the most friendly way. They show you the menu and invite you in. They are persistent every night, but are very friendly, to the point you feel guilty for not going in. That said, there is so much choice you can't go in all of them.
Only had one bad meal and that was at one near the harbour/beach area who say they have the only wood fired pizza oven and really push this as an issue. We ate there and it was overpriced and rubbish food. Can't remember the name, but you remember when the man points out the oven to you!!
We found the local restaurants very similar quality. Try the fish dishes they are excellent. Tia Bernandes is a good restaurant down their main street. Front of house is Simon, and English guy who is very honest and friendly. Ate there a couple of times and really enjoyed it. If you are with Thomas Cook/JMC you get a free bottle of house wine at this location (voucher given to you at the welcome meeting).
Overall, it is unlikely that we will return to Correlejo, mainly due to the wind and the lack of wall to wall sunshine. However, it has some good points, especially the food, and the mild heat if you are not a sunseeker.
Hope you enjoy, and thanks to the other reviews, we found them, as always, very useful.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
This complex will only just reach 3*, the rooms are very basic but the pool area is nice and well set out, cleanliness is good.Staff are friendly and helpful, rep is invisible. The main drawback for this complex is that it is in the wrong place, it is tucked on the corner past the old town, the only hotel in the area, and is buffeted by a gale force wind constantly, this made it so cold that we never sat on our balcony once in 11 days.
The beaches are about 3/4 mile away but apart from the small beach in the centre they all get the wind, hence all the wind surfing in the area.Corralejo itself offers very little, there is a partly finished water park which costs £13 each to get in ( the wind is free)and plenty of decent restaurants. Here I should mention Avenida which is just around the corner from the complex and is easily the best in Corralejo, absolutely fabulous. The whole area is covered in graffiti and dog s**t and if you can get through your holiday without trodding in some well done,
Sorry I wont be returning to Feurteventura, a lump of volcanic rock which must ressemble the moon and not a lot more to do doesn't appeal to me.

Building Work:
Although it did not spoil our holiday, please be aware that building work is under way on the plot of land just behind the Bristol Playa.
When we were there at the levelling of the ground stage, it was quite noisy, and dusty. To see where the development is, look on Google Earth and type in Corralejo. The Bristol Playa is at the north end of Corralejo, just north west of the harbour by the FV-1 coast road. The plot of land in question is a square shape on the eastern side of the apartments. Blocks E F and G may be affected by the noise, which starts around 8;30am and goes on to about 5;30 pm. It may go on longer in the summer when it gets darker later on. Down by the pool the sound isa bit muffled by the buildings, so it was not quite so bad there. They didn't work at weekends.
Things Thomas Cook don't tell you:
If you don't order an in-flight meal (cost of £6 each way) they don't tell you that they will pre- assign you seating and make a great deal of fuss about changing it, we needed to have an aisle seat for medical reasons. There is no reference to this in their brochures. On the other hand... if you pay to have reserved seats all they will guarantee are two seats together.
Coming back we did manage to get aisle seating. All of us Thomas Cook passengers were put on a Thompson flight. Due to an error by TC, the whole flight had free meals regardless if you had paid or not. So that was lucky for us..
OK, doom and gloom over...
This was our second visit to Corralejo and we found that it hadn't changed very much in three years.. we still liked it, although, not a lot for youngsters to do there, you would need a car to get to places to entertain them.
We thought that the Bristol Playa was an attractive complex. No more than three stories high, with nicely laid out gardens and pool area, and it looked clean and well maintained.
We had opted for a two bedroom apartment on the top floor, this had the advantage of having two private balconies, one looking at the pool and the other over the main road and children's playground. The latter one received most on the sun during the day and was fairly private. Comfortable beds, a safe: for which you needed to hire a key, (3 Euro's a day plus 5 Euro's deposit), toaster, kettle, micro wave and coffee maker, but no hair-drier. The bathroom was on the small side but quite adequate. Unfortunately, it did not have an air vent or window so it did get a bit steamed up. The water was very hot and as the shower was angled at about 30 degrees, the back wall, (along with the towel rail,) received a good soaking, so remember to remove the towels before you start.
The apartments do have clothes airers , I would suggest that you take a few pegs so that your clothes / towels say put.
No sign of any ants as mentioned in other reports or any dogs, however, there are some resident cats that roamed about.
Even though they had security guards going round in the evenings,we did think that the hotel they could do better. The doors to the apartments had seen better days, and locks should be changed to card entry, We only had one key and was a bit inconvenient. The doors have a basic lock that can be opened from the front without a key, (if unlocked,) so to be safe, you had to lock yourselves in if you had a siesta . The safe also was key entry, this had the apartment number on it: very handy for any thief if it got lost. A safe that lets you choose your own number would be safer.
Plenty of sunbeds but unfortunately, no parasols, it being a too windy location . There are plenty of palm trees that provide some shade. Pool depths are well marked all round, plus there is a life guard who makes sure that children using the bigger pools can swim. The pool bar/coffee shop does not open until 12:30, which is a bit inconvenient if you fancy a mid-morning coffee. We were very unimpressed with their fruit cocktails (5.50e) not a bit like as advertised in the menu , and definitely not worth the money. We didn't use the restaurant but their buffet breakfast is 7 eruo's adult and 3.50 eruo's child .
The on-site supermarket is convenient for the odd bits you may want like water , bread and papers, but we recommend that you go the the nearest supermarket outside for anything special. The closest one is up by the bus station, just follow the coast road up on your left. There are also two more supermarkets in town, one of which is the Hiper-dino. (marked on the map)
They do have some evening entertainment in the small bar :a key board player and a female singer, very middle of the road repertoire. They did not have a big audience, but maybe it was early in the season and the entertainment will pick up later on.
If you hired a car, there is plenty of parking spaces outside. If taxi's are more for you, there are two taxi ranks in town, one outside the Rock Café and another down the end of the road nearer to Music Square. All the taxi's are white.
In Corralejo there are plenty of places for you to eat a different cuisine every night. They all have people standing outside, trying to persuade you inside their establishment. We can recommend, "The Bombay", and "The El Tren," this one is on the front, it may look a bit run down but the food was excellent. At the end of your meal most of the restaurants will give you a free liqueur.( they can be pretty strong!)
On the local beach look out for the sand artist, a very talented man. Look in his book at some the other amazing sculptures he does,
Apart from eateries , Corralejo has a fair range of shops including: designer clothes, jewellery, cameras, shoes, perfume, up market souvenirs and of cause shops selling the normal holiday souvenir tat ,(including one with "vibrators" on display along with tea-towel and hats!), this kind of shop will usually have someone outside trying to persuade you to come inside.
For night-life it depends on if you prefer to just sit and listen to good live music, or you may like the joining in kind of entertainment. What ever it is you prefer there is plenty of choice for everyone.
We were lucky, the weekend of our holiday, there was a free "Blue's Weekend" in the main square.
Down in Music Square the entertainment varies from hard rock to easy listening. Another place that had a Blue's band that week, was "The Kiwi Café." Our favourite place in the evening for coffee and their yummy chocolate brownies, was "Secreto's", opposite the Rock Café, where we could listen to the Rock Cafe's live music: (it's very loud!) it's mostly rock or blue's .
A word of warning when walking back to Bristol Playa in dark, this is in the older side of the town and the standard of maintenance to the pavements is a little to be desired. Paving slabs and man-hole covers can be missing ( yes really, with no guards) and pavements are a bit of a botch-up with lumps of concrete left in a pile over wiring and around lampposts. Traffic however, is quite well behaved and they nearly always stop at the zebra crossing for you. If you have hired a car, all the petrol stations seem to be on the east side of the island :get a free map to check where they are.
A ferry trip over to Playa Blanca costs 34.50 Euro's , is well worth a visit. You could go on a bus ride :the two routes from Corralejo go to Puerto del Rosario and another to El Cottillo via La Oilva. To visit other parts of the island you need a car or go on an organized trip.
Duty Free Allowances:
Remember that all bottles of liquids over 100mls(wine, beer etc) brought on the mainland will have to go in your hold luggage. If you buy a 250 ml bottle of expensive Eau de Toilette DON'T keep in your hand luggage (even if it's opened) or else you will have leave it behind! You can buy anything you want to after going through customs within your D.F.A. If you want to use up your euros on the aeroplane going home, think again.....their exchange rate was 2 euros for £1........!!
We were a little disappointed in the weather, the evening were very cool and jackets, or jumpers were required. We did have rain on some days, mostly at night and on the last day while waiting for our coach. This part of Fuerteventura can be very windy and it can make it seem cooler than it is, so don't get caught out and get burnt.
Enjoy Your Holiday...

Be warned if you stay in a ground floor apartment, we were in 126, at first we just had ants, we bought some spray and managed to control them, then we became infested by cockroaches we complained to
reception who said they could not move us that evening but at 2 in the morning they were all over our bedroom we went to reception and to be fair they did put us in another room to sleep and gave us a first floor room the next day as you can imagine the whole episode put a damper on the holiday.

Just arrived home yesterday,unfortunatly
1 week was not enough, but my boss thinks different.
Could not fault anything about the holiday,The Bristol Playa is a very good
place to stay the apartments are clean, plenty of utetials, some have sea veiws over to Lanzeroti, others have pool veiws. The staff are all very freindly and helpfull, the complex is pretty. It is a ten minute flat walk
to the centre, where there is plenty to do for all ages, nice resteraunts, try the ones in the back streets as well as the ones on the waterfront. The shopping is good, souverniers, designer wear, duty free, cigs and drinks are cheaper in town than on the airport. The centre has some small beaches, but it is wll worth a 6 Euro taxi ride to Olivia Beaach near the start of the sand dunes.
Overall a very nice place to stay.

Just returned from 2 weeks of fab weather. Temps in the mid 30's.
The Complex at the Bristol Playa is very clean and the staff are very nice. I will start with the down sides first. On arrival i had requested a first floor room and was sent to room 103 in the B block which was on the ground foor with the patio doors on a path next to the road and with a typical 3 year old in the family this was not a good idea. After lots of not so positive response from reception or the rep we were moved to an upstairs room after 2 days (due to them being fully booked and the house keeper having her day off). My only other gripe was that everyone in the resort has a dog and picking up the mess is not a top priority.
The good bits were the pool area which was great and the small baby pool was loved by my 3 year old (watch it can be very slippery)and even though people put their towels out early (my husband would not let me) we always got a bed near the baby pool. The pool bar was spotless as with the whole place and the cleaning staff were great apart from you only got new towels 3 times a week and being a 2 shower a day family it was a problem but if i had asked reception i am sure they would have changed them. We met lots of nice people who had tried the breakfast and said it was lovey and very fresh with great choice. In the Evenings we walked along the sea front to the harbour area to eat and there was so much to choose from The Slow Boat 3 was excellent as was the mexican just down on the right from there and also Fogelera on the habour front and the waitress Eima made great friends with the kids and made us feel so welcome. On a whole, 2 weeks was to long for us with the kids but i would recommend this holiday to familys looking for a good quality break.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
Oh dear! These apartments are not worthy of the 3 star rating they have.
The public areas/pool area are very clean and well kept. The rooms, particularly on the ground floor, leave a lot to be desired. We were plagued with ants for over a week before the horrible manager backed down and let us change rooms to a higher floor. The fridge was full of ants, as was the kettle, which didn't work either. The apartment was very claustrophobic, not big enough for 4 people really. The bathroom was very tiny, with no window and no extractor fan...not good! Our room was supposed to be for 4 people and yet, there were only 2 dining chairs and 2 chairs on the balcony.
On the plus side, the linen and towels were spotless and there was always tons of hot water. On the down side again, there was absolutely nothing to do for children, especially older ones. There was a kids club, but the age limit was 12. The only facilities for older ones were 2 pool tables, an air hockey table and 1 computer with internet access, which cost 3 Euros for 15 minutes. When you weigh up that there is 180 plus apartments here, each with at least 2 kids in each, that's not a lot of facilities.
It was about 20 mins walk to the 'centre' which had a good selection of restaurants and a few shops. We found the Slow Boat 2 chinese restaurant was lovely(and reasonable) and Sotavento, on the seafront, near the ferry terminal was also excellent, with lovely staff. All in all, Bristol Playa needs to get its act together and realise that if people are staying at the opposite end of the resort to all the action, it needs to have far more facilities on site, i.e..good entertainment for all ages and food available on an evening. And Thomas Cook, please review your ratings. 3 star this is NOT.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
Was amazed when we arrived at this hotel how disappointed we were after reading all the good reviews here. Yes, Feurtevenura is lovely. Would not take 4 kids to the beach though so did not benefit from lovely sand dunes and having to explain to the kids about the standard nudity. Harbour was nice and so was taking the kids fishing in the rock pools. Hotel not far from anything so cannot complain about that. Taxis are very cheap no complaints there. Plenty of fabulous restaurants to suit everyone at a very good price. They do not seem to be into starters (which are very expensive compared to main course) and desserts (almost non existent). Enjoyed the shot after and the kids appreciate the lollies they get. Great shopping centre opened up call Los Rotundas in Rosario well worth the 30 min no. 6 bus ride to it. Has all the shops you could need - food very basic and limited for the class of the place but you will find Burger King if you need it.
The hotel was clean and tidy enough and well maintained externally. Shop adequate and not over expensive. The apartments were atrocious. Never had so bad. There were 6 of us in a 2 bed. The sofa bed was awful and the mattress was so bad that even after 30 mins of sitting on it you had enough. We put the youngest on it. The 6th bed was a camp bed and to set this up we had to rearrange the furniture each evening. The room was so small that even without it up there was not enough room for the 6 of us to be in the one room. When the bed was made up it was a nightmare. The security was good at the hotel, but as it had no air conditioning with the heat you needed the windows open which was frightening as was the same with all the apartments once a window was open it was accessible to all to get in. We had a patio door in one bedroom that opened in, which was impossible with the space and added to that you had to have the curtains open to have the door open. The main beds were a nightmare, so uncomfortable and the worst we have ever slept in. Talking to other guests everyone had the same problem and we all lacked a decent nights sleep.
The apartments were so basic and cheap and tacky and designed very very badly and don't bother trying to move rooms as the others are not any better. We were on the 3rd floor with no lift and had to be bringing all the stuff we need for 6 of us including a buggy up and down the stairs the whole time which was not fun. Had a desparate problem with ants so keep food out of the way and the floors clean. No problems with cockroaches they only affected the ground floor apartments. This hotel has a lot of potential but needs a serious overhaul to bring it up to a decent standard. We were not even equipped with cutlery and dishes for 6 people.
The evening entertainment for kids was non existent. This place is ideal for those of you who have kids but don't like the reps buzzing around entertaining you and the kids all the time. There is no atmosphere here after the day at the pool everyone - and I mean everyone - heads off for the evening. The hotel is very boring and nothing happens. They advertise entertainment but it is a sham more often doesn't happen and just a joke. Only no more than 10 people will be there out of a full hotel - which says it all!
There is better out there for the same money!

After reading some of these reports we were a little worried as to what we might find.
We had e-mailed the hotel and asked for a pool side ground floor apartment and when we arrived we were not disappointed. We were allocated room number 135, very clean with maid service every other day, the patio doors opened up directly in front of the shallow childrens pool which was great for us and the kids. (although the pool is salt water it was great to swim in and neither one of the kids complained at all, staying in there from 1000 til well past 5 each evening).
The hotel run kids club was, to be honest, crap and we only went there once and decided to give it a miss, there is another one run by another holiday firm which looked better although our kids just wanted to swim.
The Hotel serve buffet breakfast for 7 euros each morning til 10am, then have a poolside bar which serves snacks from a limited menu, there is no food avaliable on site after 5pm, there is a bar which is ok and entertainment every night, except wednesday.
The on site supermarket stocks all you need, but they have strange opening times thru the week and close at 7. If you go outside the complex via the back way, ( by the tennis courts ) and turn right there is a larger supermarket and also a local one with really helpful locals and a wonderful bakery aswell.
It is only a 10-15 minute walk into town and you can't really get lost getting there.
We found if you go out the back and walk down towards the harbour its quicker than the way the reps tell you to go.
There are plenty of places to eat, especially if you like seafood ( which we dont ). All the restaurants by the harbour where the sand sculptures are have great menu's. El Pescadores by the music square is great, try their house steak special, there are a few places to eat by the music square which has entertainment every night, singing, magic etc, great for the kids, Cofradia de Pescadores also serves nice food.
They all seem to have the same kids menu's for 4 euro's, be warned, if your kids want the pizza its 12 inches round !!!
As for bad points, the on site activities during the day are very poor with the evening Kids Disco the worst ever. We did see 2 cock roaches, better then some of the reports we read about.
We only went on one excursion which was to the Baku Water Park, its a brilliant day out, get a cab as its cheaper then the bus (2 euros)!
All in all we had a great holiday, the kids loved the pool which meant we could relax. Hotel was lovely and we would go there again.

Just returned from our first visit to Fuerteventura and would go back there, especially to the Bristol Playa.
The hotel is just a short stroll away from the old town, it's much easier if you come out of the back of the hotel, turn right, left and 2nd right and this road takes you straight into the old music square where there are lots of little restaurants and each night there are either musicians or clowns or fire eaters/jugglers etc, great to sit and eat and watch.
The only downside we had about the hotel really was the pool. It is THE coldest pool I've ever come across anywhere. Take care around the poolside and the bridges, they are especially slippy, the poolside filters are a bit dodgy too and come apart easily. Just make sure the little ones are careful around them. There aren't any parasols either around the pool so there isn't any shade to be had, especially difficult if you have young children as we do.
The evening hotel entertainment isn't too hot either, they have a live act on every night except Weds but its just a singer who repeats his act the week after!! There is however a good little parrott show and reptile show which the kids loved.
A visit to the La Lajita park is recommended, although wear trainers and not flip flops as the floor all throughout the park is covered in little tiny stone chippings. The seal show was great, they bring one out to kiss you so make sure you sit half way down the auditorium on line with the glass doors on the left and right of the seal pool. The camel safari was excellent too, my kids really enjoyed it.
There is a lovely little beach just beyond the harbour, the breeze is such a welcome thing too as it can get very hot, just be careful because it can give you a false sense of security, I got caught out one day and burnt my arm.
On the whole we would revisit the Bristol Playa but would book direct with the hotel and arrange our own flights, there really wasn't any reason at all to be with a tour operator.

We had a fab time here!
The apartments were very clean and had everything you needed. Our patio doors opened up onto the pool terrace (ask for Ground Floor, Block B), which was great as we had our baby son with us so we were able to leave him indoors for a nap and sunbathe just outside the doors.
Its a 10 minute stroll through either the residential area into town or 15 mins round the harbour. Loads of nice restaurants, our favourites were Poco Loco (great chateaubriand!) Slow Boat III (old town), Riverside Cafe (nice for lunch - crusty rolls, jacket potatoes etc), Taj Mahal (old town) and a gorgeous Italian, which I can't remember the name of but is in the shopping complex by the big clock in the new town!
Los Pepes sounded lovely but they don't allow pushchairs in and they don't have highchairs or outdoor seating!
Chablis is a 'Brits' wine bar type place, very dark and smoky inside but its nice to sit outside with a cocktail watching the world go by!
We would definitley go back to Corralejo and probably the same apartments as we liked walking back after our meal in the evening and burning it off!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
Just come back from Bristol Playa and in all fairness we could not give the hotel any rating at all.
Though the hotel was well maintained, clean, nice pool area, good maid service and wonderfully pleasant helpful reception staff - we had a tremendous problem with cockroaches. The extremely large brown ones that are olympic runners once in the apartment. We was absolutely plagued by them!!!
As we had a ground floor room (number 126) surrounded by gardens we feel that this added to the problem. In particular the hotel complex backs onto the old part of town with waste land on the other side due for major development work any time now, this was cockroach territory.
We woke up in the mornings to find cockroach droppings all over work surfaces and the main runs on the tiled floors and they hide under the main door so when someone unsuspecting opens the door - a whole 13 of the things run into the apartment all at once. You try cornering one of these and serving them with an eviction notice.
On our last night we had to sleep in a stuffy bedroom with the window firmly locked, a rolled up blanket against the bedroom door as a barrier against the huge gaps underneath and at 6am was dressed, packed and ready to check out a whole 4 hours too early - we could not stand the cockroach invasion any longer! Cupboards, toilet, waste bins, wardrobe, sinks - absolutely no hiding place was sacred from these extremely large ugly things. They would jump out at the least suspecting moment just when you were heaving a sigh of relief they had all gone.
We don't think its the hotel's fault, after all they cannot stop cockroaches crawling and flying where ever they chose to do so, particularly in a hot country that borders African wind currents, but we could never go back to Bristol Playa - the cockroaches reigned supreme.
Our fifth time on the island this is the first time we have encountered plagues of the things. Perhaps strong insecticide sprayed throughout the ground floor apartments would help eliminate the problem. Don't have a ground floor apartment if you have booked to stay at the Bristol Playa.
Reading some of the reviews of Fuerteventura of a boring and bland landscape resembling a "volcanic quarry" - nothing could be further from the truth. There are some amazing places on the island off the beaten track. One excellent way to visit these places is to take a Coolrunnings Trike tour of the island. There are natural formations of caves in a hidden cove that are accessible by walking on the fossilised old sea bed with a wave of rocks similar to Wave Rock in Australia, hidden coves where rivers run into the sea, lagoons of El Cottillo, the most beautiful traditional villages with bistros that are akin to stepping back several centuries, legends, folklore and history galore.
Fuerteventura is steeped in fascinating places to discover with the most breathtaking scenery even inland! You just have to know where to look and even with a hire car you can miss so much if you are interested in more than the pool and shops. On our fifth visit we were still discovering places and no doubt will do so again in December when we revisit the island once more - unfortunately just not at the Bristol Playa.
Have a great holiday and look up some of those amazing places and views and you will discover so much more than a "volcanic quarry".

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
This was our first time to this island, and we were extremeley impressed.we expected the weather to be a bit unpredictable, but we were suprised as the sun shone all week. Thank goodness for the wind as it is welcomed when your sunbathing. Our impression of the appartment was excellent with sea view from the lounge and pool view from the bedroom. The maid service was excellent, 5 times a week and linen changed 3 times. The reception staff were helpfull so were the pool bar staff.
eating out- try a steak at the big steakhouse in the plaza, service and food excellent.
La Catalina-mexican in the plaza.
Ni Napoli have delicious pizzas.
Chablis is on the main highstreet which offers a relaxing drink or 2.
Stables sports bar is a must if you enjoy karaoke and quizzes etc.especially large sporting events.
Finnigans and Dubliner Irish bars have some excellent live music most nights, but beware the compare in the dubliner as he thinks he is funny, and believe me hes not!!!!!
Overall we would definately return for a bit of winter sun!!!!

Apartments were very nice we had everything we needed. The cot provided was of a good standard. The areas around the pool and snack bar were kept clean and the staff were all very helpful and spoke good english - even the maid!
We found the walk in to the centre to be about fifteen minutes along the promenade and less on the back streets. Promenade was well lit but the back streets Ok in the daytime but not well lit in the evening.
The town has a wide range of shops and restaurants we found the restaurants in the Plaza were especially nice.
All in all very nice hotel and resort would return but would book closer to the resort centre.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
Just returned from this beautiful sunny island to the freezing teperatures of Great Britain (23C to 1C). We had a couple of wet and cold days, but the sunny hot weather made up for this, and this is their winter!
We found the apartment excellent. Very clean and spacious. We asked for a seaview when we booked the holiday and got it. The hotel is in a quiet and peaceful location and only a 10 - 15 mins walk to the town, depending on how fast you walk and finding out where the shortcuts are.
There is maid service every day apart from Thursday and Sunday, but apart from the once a week sheet and towel change, all they did was make the beds and clean the floors.
There are two beautiful clean swimming pools and plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The gardens are kept beautiful and there is a a small area for children with aswings etc, and tennis courts.
We hired a car for 11 days and explored the island seeing all the beautiful golden and black beaches, and visiting beautiful places ie Ajuy, La Pared, Las Playitas, Tindaya and so many more.We did not think much to Morro Jable or Caleta De Fuste, but it depends on what one wants. The first day we hired the car we went to Bentacuria, which in a beautiful place and should not be missed, but only having just picked up the car John had to negotiate hairpin bends on narrow roads and steep drops on one side. He learnt very quickly how to handle the car plus driving on the right side of the road. I would suggest visiting this place a few days into your car hire.
We tended to go out at night to the rural restaurants ie La Azzuro ( El costillo), El Rancho and El Horno (Villaverde)as we found the food in most of the different restaurants in Correljo very much the same. We had one bad meal in an Italian restaurant ( opposite Restaurant Eve). We did complain and even though we offered to pay for our dessert and drinks, they refused and let us have the whole meal for free.
The Indian called the Sitar (Correljo) is very good as is the El Sombre and La Sotaventa.
Shopping is good in the town, especially for duty free items.
Our favourite beach was El Cotillo with fine golden sand and crystal blue sea. There is a nudist beach here, but many people were in the nude on the family beaches too.
The people are very friendly, it is a geat island to explore and we would certainly return.

Apartments are of quite a good standard - they are constantly upgrading to keep them good.
The apartments are a short walk from the main town so there is not very much noise - however I would check with your tor company as building work was imminent across the road from our apartment.
Eating out try Gibsons or Rosie Ogradys or La Tasca or La Terraza.
The bar you want to visit is called THE HELLO BAR - directly behind Mango - Sabi is a great hostess and we had some great nights there - music is great and no TV'S - tell Sabi Albert sends his regards.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
ON arrival bit surprised apartments small - but hey that didn't really matter - the advertised buffet restuarant on sight is for breakfast only - my husband sampled and said was good value for money.
Pool was good the children loved it - only concern the over flow grids were weak and if you stepped on them collapsed - reported and on our departure date noted they were being fixed.
Although a nice walk along harbour or through back streets into town - we liked this walk always felt safe and walked back several time well after 11.30pm. Restuarants on the harbour the best - kids meals the usual but we asked for small adults without Chips in several and they were obliging.
Usual brits putting towels out at 7am - so we had to do same but we did it at a more reasonable time of 8.30 No parasoles around pool due to windy breeze - but when not breezzy would have been nice to have.
all in all we had a fab time - definatly go to Flag Beach the waves are magnificant - watch young children though as they can knock you for six very quickly.
I would definatly say it is worth a visit - just don't rely on the entertainment in the aparment this was a bit mundane - we were lucky to meet some other nice families so it was not a problem.
Out of 10 I would give it a good 8 - there was a bit of a security issue with some biknis and jackets going missing off lines but the manamgement responded immediatley with security attendance through out the night - and we actually witnessed an arrest and boy the police do not take this lightly they value the tourists and made sure we all felt safe - we were ground floor and we could not have the windows open - we still felt comfortable and safe.
We had a fun happy time

The Bristol Playa is a great place for those who like peace and quiet.
The resort is a developing low level resort which is great for those who like to eat, drink, sunbathe and not much else; It has no history at all but plenty of sun, at least 5 sunny days of 70 degrees even at xmas.
The other days that may/were wet and windy well save a good book for because there aint a lot else there.
Entertainment is almost non existant at the Bristol as are the reps.
Perched on the volcanic lava the town has resterants by the score and a few shops selling the usual stuff.
Terrible smell of sewage outside and to the left of front enterance of Hotel and the floor slabs and stairs are lethal when wet all around the complex.
Beware those with small toddlers as there are hardley any saftey rails around harbour and beach area.
Sun mostly, sea wind and yes some rain dont think I`ll be going back no time soon.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
These apartments are first class, excellent location and very very clean. The only slight problem that you may have is depending on which block (C or D) you are staying in you may experience some road noise, but its not that bad. The pool area is great, there is 2 adult pools and one for the kids, plenty of sun beds to go around, and contratey to what folk say about the Germans, the British are just as bad with their towel's !!!!!!!!!!!.
The resort its self is excellent, there is plenty to do, both during the day and at night. Plenty of first class restaurants. We found you get better value for money and better food if you eat at the local ones and avoid the "British Ones". La Tasca and Blue Jeans and excellent for "BIG" steaks. There are so many good places that you will be spoiled for choice.
The nightlife is pretty laid back, no disco's or loud music bars. The Rock cafe on the Main Street, is a good place to sit and chill to good roack and blues music. The Rock Island is a great live acoustic bar. Another great place is "Sadies", its a drag bar. It is an aboustly fab night out, not for the faint hearted, but you should make an effort to go along, you will have one of the best nigths out ever.
All in all Corralejo is an excellent resort, the "18-30" group haven't managed to make it there yet, (hopefully they won't), its the kind of place where you can go and totally unwind.
We will definitely be going back.

12 to 19 November 2005
As a travel agent, I booked this as a dynamic package (mix'n'match) and ended up paying £164 less than if we had booked a package. This included car hire for the week.
We arrived on the Saturday evening, and as we had made our own in the car, we got to reception and were in our room within 5 minutes of arriving. The receptionist told us that it was a 24 hour reception, but after going out for a meal and a drink, we attempted to get the safe key for the room, only to be told that we would have to wait until 8am the following morning (no explanation given other than it was too late), which kind of puzzled us a bit.
The room itself was spotless. Very clean. Maid came 5 times a week and towels etc changed 3 times. We did get one cockroach, but really didn`t bother us, and something I expect in hot countries. Certainly wasnt down to the place being unclean anyway. A few ants, but again, you get them all over canaries.
Our main reason for the holiday was to go mountain biking and exploring further afield by car. With that in mind, we never used any facilities in the accomodation, as we were out first thing in the morning and only returned to shower and change before going to the restaurants and bars in the evening.
If you are wanting to hire mountain bikes, forget the ones in the Bristol Playa, as they look as thought they are not maintained well. We hired ours from "volcano" mountain bike shop, which is down a side street off the main street with the bank on the corner. Very well looked after. Full suspension bike was 30 euros for 3 days hire, front suspension only was 20euros and basic for 15euros. Believe me, if you intend cycling the coastal "road"/track from Corralejo to El Cotillo, you will need the front suspension at least, or you will be a wreck when you get back !!!!
Our fave bar was Chablis, which is on the main street, in the old part of town on the opposite side to the CC Atlantico. In the Atlantico, we liked Coyote and Flicks as well. Plenty of restaurants around, the mexican is nice in the plaza, and also the steak house on the main street (think it was "el torro"), but my fave was one on the sea front which served steak, but sorry, cant remember its name now.
We went over on the ferry with our bikes, to Lanzarote and had a ride around the south coast. The Armas ferry takes you to Playa Blanca and is 30euros per person return (incl. fuel charges / taxes etc) and a further 6euros to take our bikes across.
We did have a massive thunderstorm on the Thursday, and we sat up the hill taking photos and watched the tornado heading towards us (amazing site, excellent pics). On the Friday, we headed down to the American Star shipwreck, which is sadly looking as though it is about to be washed away forever. Lovely villages and towns en route, including Betancuria and Antigua. El Cotillo is also beautiful, which we visited on one of our bike rides.
Back to the Bristol Playa, and it is situated amongst the old part of town, and is surrounded by local residents accomodation, and right on the sea front. There is loads of car parking right outside the front door and extremely easy to find, even if you have never been here before. The walk into the main area takes less than a brisk 5 minute stroll, and you will pass some decent local bars along the way, which don`t attract the tourists. It`s a bit of a trek to the beach, but really the best beach is just outside Corralejo, so if you`ve got a car, then you don`t have a problem. Driving in Fuerteventura is very easy. The roads are a lot less crowded than the other canary islands and with very few roads, easy to get around

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
Just returned from a 10 night stay at the Bristol Playa. My husband and I found these apartments to be excellent. We had a room in E block (room 244) which was fairly quiet and overlooked the swimming pool. We discovered we could get a reception on our baby monitor from the pool so whilst our 18 month old toddler had his afternoon nap we got to soak up the sun.
The Bristol Playa is located in the residential part of Corralejo so you get to see how the locals live (the children going to school, the children's playground, large local supermarket (Hipo Dino) as well as experiencing the really bad paving - lots of pot holes. The hotel is situated on a headland with views across to Lanzarote. It's a 10 minute walk through town or a 20 minute walk via the promenade which leads directly to all the restaurants and bars along the seafront. The promenade made a really pleasant walk back to the hotel after dinner.
There was no daytime entertainment that we were aware of but this suited us - also no loud music blaring out so nice and quiet apart from the odd child screaming. There are no umbrellas around the pool so if you have a baby you'll need to bring your own as there's very little shade available during the afternoon. The free form pools (salt water) were very nice if a little chilly but they did seem to warm up whilst we were there. We thought the areas around the pool were quite slippery so not good for little ones wanting to explore. We ate from the snack bar once and found the food to be okay. Evening entertainment started at 22:00 - each night they seemed to have different singers. We didn't get to the hotel bar often but found the drinks to be quite expensive. Because of the location of our room we could hear the music from our balcony so preferred to sip drinks whilst overlooking the pool which was really nicely lit. The kitchen area was quite small and there was very limited work space but it was fully equipped with kettle, toaster, 2 ring cooker, microwave, coffee percolator - all we really needed.
Corralejo is a developing resort - you'll get to see lots of building sites and cranes but these are located at the opposite end of town to the BP. Although we usually favour Greece as a holiday destination we found Corralejo really pleasant - guess most Brits see it as a home from home. There were a few beaches in the town (Waikiki being the best) and if you wanted you could catch a number 6 bus (to 'Los Hoteles') which stops outside the RIU hotel which is right on the sand dunes (takes 15 minutes). There's a taxi rank for your return or you can catch the bus.
We found lots of good restaurants in the resort:
La Avenida (Spanish restaurant) don't be put off by the outside of the building as inside it is typically Spanish - bare wooden tables etc. Very good for seafood. You'll need to get there early to get a table.
La Tasca Steakhouse (round the corner from Poco Loco)
Slowboat II (Chinese restaurant in the Plaza centre)
Los Pepes which was close to the harbour and was really different from all the other restaurants - more modern European and intimate
The Bombay in C/La Milagrosa was very good
The Waikiki was really nice for an evening drink - tables right on the beach
Were to return to this resort we would return to the BP we really couldn't fault them and really liked the location. Would think twice about flying with First Choice - must be the most cramped airline ever and I'm only 5ft 2".

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Bristol Playa and we have had a lovely time there.
The apartments are clean and nicely decorated, easily up to the standard of many 4* apartments I have stayed in. We had asked for 2 rooms next to each other and were really pleased to get two rooms on the ground floor overlooking the pool with open terraces onto the pool side, this was very convenient with small children as you could easily pop back to the room during the day.
The pools were lovely with a nice poolside bar although service here could sometimes be a little slow. There is also a small supermaket onsite which stocks everything you might need, there is a larger supermarket behind the apartments next to the Jive Bunny pub but there was no difference in prices.
The only bad point about the hotel was the entertainment, the childrens disco was dreadful. It was held in a basement room with no air con or windows and so was red hot and although the entertainment girl was probably doing her best she spent so long trying to teach the children the dances with no music on there was only time to play about 2 songs by which time the little ones had lost interest. We only went once and after that stayed in town. There were daytime activities advertised in reception such as water polo etc but these never seemed to happen but this could have been the time of year.
The location is very good although there arent many other hotels in this area. It is only a 5/10 minute walk to the harbour, seafront and square area which is the nicest part of the resort. The bus station is close to the hotel where you can catch a bus to the beach every 30 mins for 1 euro each, we then got a taxi back which was about 5 euros.
We had our best meals at the Slow Boat II chinese and La Cantina mexican in the Plaza shopping centre on the main street and at the San Borondon italian on the corner of the square. We were spoilt for choice of places to eat and could have easily stayed another week without eating in the same place twice, all of the restaurants we visited were very family friendly.
Overall we had a really good holiday and I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for good self catering accomodation.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:
We have just returned from a brilliant two week holiday to this hotel. The weather was fantastic at 30+ each day and clear blue skys.
It was our first time to this island although the people we travelled with had been there 3 times before hand so knew what to expect.
This is rated as a 3 star hotel/apartment complex and in my opinion the only thing that stops it getting 4 stars is the lack of air-conditioning in the rooms. Saying that, we slept with the windows open, nets pulled across and were not bothered by bugs or mossies at any time.
The apartment was very clean and tidy with regular bed linen and towel changes throughout our stay.
It is well situated for the shops and restaurants alike and the prices are overall pretty good. The Plaza has Mexican, Chinese and Indian restaurants in it but the prices are a bit high for what you get and the food quality isn't as good so try the smaller places in Corralejo itself.
The Castaways bar on the harbour front has live music most nights and has a good atmosphere too boot.
The small beach outside of the hotel is pretty rubbishy but for a 6 euro cab ride you could end up at Oliva Beach!! What a beach it is as well! Beautiful soft golden sands and endless dunes. The sea was quite chilly but great once you were in it and chrystal clear.
Nudity is rife along this and many other beaches on the island so be aware but you know what they say, if you cant beat them... join them... it was a great laugh!
If you have ever wondered what the medical services would be like on an island like this then I can tell you first hand.
One of our party fell on the second day and broke their upperarm. We took them to the Brisamar medical centre near the plaza and they received top class attention. She was told she would be in the pool within the week and although she never made the pool she did make the beach and sea.
All in all it was a great holiday and I would have no worries about returning to this location.
Enjoy!!

Returned from an extremely relaxing fortnight in the Bristol Playa. Accomodation exactly as described, minor problem with a few ants but this was swiftly resolved by reception. Complex very clean and well maintained, usual stinky water going on the plants but apart from that very good.
Hotel beach OK, the most fantastic rock pools for kids to explore in but not really for sunbathing.
10 minute walk into town centre along seafront, this area could do with a clean as it seems to be the place where every dog on the island goes to the toilet.
Town centre around music square and harbour excellent for eating out, very good quality and reasonably priced.
Blue Delphin dolphin watching / watersports trip was excellent, dolphins, amazing flying fish watersports for all ages. Banana b
